Right now, woman and children all across Memphis and the US are being trafficked for sex. In fact, according to the FBI, about 18,000 children are imported into the United States every year, most of whom are sold as sex slaves. And that number is growing.
That means that as you read this, woman and children are getting raped, abused, coerced, tricked, and sold all across your city, without mercy and without any hope in sight. That’s not a pleasant thought, but it’s real. Women and young girls who are trapped in this industry face physical abuse, emotional abuse, abandonment, forced drug addiction, brainwashing, coercion, disease, cervical cancer, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, lack of education, pregnancies and abortions (forced and voluntary), disfiguring (such as being forced to get a tattoo of their pimp’s name or symbol), sleep deprivation, mental disorders, and more. It is conceivable that this could be the most wicked thing on the face of the Earth.
Our vision is simple: to provide a safe, loving home where victims of sex trafficking can get everything they need to recover and move forward into a new hope and future. This includes: A Loving Home in a secure premises in a hidden location where they can escape from their traffickers and pimps and be part of a loving family; Physical Recovery in the form of medical care, therapy (in partnership with clinics and doctors), exercise, crisis pregnancy counseling, and more; Mental and Emotional Recovery from all that they’ve been through, including full counseling from dedicated, loving, & qualified staff with low caseloads, mentoring, and fun activities to encourage social interaction; Spiritual Recovery through counseling, discipleship, Bible studies, and prayer that are all Gospel-centered & focused on showing them the healing, love, hope, and joy that Christ offers; Education that includes school topics (such as Math, History, Science, English, etc.), basic life skills (such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, budgeting, etc.), and career skills to help them learn how to be self-sufficient, functioning members of society.
Our vision is to serve young woman and girls age 26 and under (the average age of entry into sex slavery is 13) by providing them a facility to provide long term recovery and care. This facility will include:
- At least 60 Beds
- Classrooms
- Kitchen/Dining Hall
- Gathering Hall
- Exercise Facility
- Clinic/Detox facility
- Nursery/Childcare Facility
- Gated compound & security systems
- Counseling & Administrative Offices
- Small apartments for live-in counselors
We will also be working with local law enforcement, state government, community partners, and people of all backgrounds who have a passion to see the abolition of this slavery to help rescue these young girls.
Right now, this is just a vision, but with your help we can make this a reality. As we pursue this vision, we will need volunteers, fund-raisers, event-organizers, donations, and more. If you would like more information or would like to make a donation, please contact us here.
